The Tile Shop, Inc. was founded in Ridgefield, Connecticut 1993 by Daniel & Rachel Oprea. Daniel, an installation specialist trained in Europe, and Rachel, a local artist born and raised in Ridgefield, fell in love with the creative use of natural stone, hand-made ceramics and glass mosaic after lengthy visits throughout Europe.
The result is an extensive collection of select materials in their unique Connecticut showroom located in the heart of Downtown Ridgefield.
The Tile Shop's eclectic mix of materials displayed on the showroom walls truly highlights the relationships developed with some of the world's best artisans.
The showrooms unique vignettes and varying floors consist of ceramic, porcelain tile, slate, travertine, limestone, marble, granite, onyx, metal and glass artfully blended for a custom one-of-a-kind look.

The professional and courteous staff is experienced in working closely with customers to create the look desired with ease and imagination. Home visits to provide estimates, as well as design and installation recommendations, are routine and encouraged.
